This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• This position assists the Science and Technology department at Field to Market in executing, operating, and enhancing the Fieldprint Platform.
• The Associate plays an active role in daily Platform operations, collaborating closely with internal colleagues as well as external technology and academic partners.
• In addition, the Associate aids the wider Science and Technology team in preparing presentations, organizing meetings, and addressing other departmental priorities, which may sometimes involve contributions to science- and metric-related projects.
• Act as the primary contact for incoming support requests related to the Fieldprint Platform; triage, resolve, or direct inquiries from project administrators, individual users of the Platform's web interface, and Qualified Data Management Partners (QDMPs) who access the Platform via API to facilitate sustainability projects for Field to Market members.
• Oversee and manage the team's GitHub ticketing system, which includes triaging incoming requests, updating tickets, monitoring progress, and following up with stakeholders.
• Assist in tracking deliverables and follow-ups using existing tools (e.g., GitHub, Microsoft Planner), ensuring visibility into team commitments without taking on formal project management responsibilities.
• Collaborate with Field to Market's IT vendor and other partners, including Colorado State University, on back-end model integration, capturing meeting notes and action items, tracking follow-ups, and facilitating transition activities.
• Aid in testing new and updated features of the Fieldprint Platform, documenting findings, and communicating issues to the development team.
• Contribute to the support portal for the Fieldprint Platform by drafting, updating, and maintaining content related to technology and scientific topics.
• Assist in the development of product documentation and play a role in the progression of the product roadmap.
• Engage in prototyping and exploring new features and tools for the Platform as technical skills advance.
• Provide meeting support for the Science and Technology team as well as for the committees, working groups, and stakeholder engagements it oversees, including scheduling, agenda creation, note-taking, and tracking follow-ups.
• Aid in developing presentations, reports, grant proposals, and other materials that communicate the work of Science and Technology to both internal and external audiences, including internal leadership, member meetings, and external conferences.
• Contribute to additional priorities for the Science and Technology team as required, which may involve occasional support on science- and metric-related projects.
• Provide assistance at Field to Market events, such as the annual meeting.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience, which may include internships, co-op programs, applied coursework, or full-time positions.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Relevant fields of study encompass information systems, computer science, data science, agricultural systems management, agricultural or environmental engineering, sustainability, environmental science, or a related area.
• Familiarity with agriculture, sustainability, or environmental systems through coursework, previous employment, or practical experience.
• Proven ability to quickly learn new technical tools and platforms; comfort with software testing, ticketing systems (e.g., GitHub, Jira), and structured work management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to take clear notes, summarize technical discussions, and create polished presentation materials.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail; ability to manage multiple workstreams and follow through on commitments.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating with a small, cross-functional team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and in the regular use of AI tools (such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) for research, drafting, summarization, and structured problem-solving, with the ability to critically assess outputs.
• Familiarity with WordPress is advantageous, as the Platform's support site operates on WordPress.
• A sense of curiosity and a willingness to take on expanding responsibilities in product, technology, science, and the broader initiatives of the Science and Technology team as this role evolves.
• Occasional travel (up to 20%) may be required for team meetings, member conferences, and stakeholder events. Candidates should be located within a two-hour drive of a major airport.
