Product Manager, Finance and Purchasing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Establish and refine the vision for IMP Finance and Purchasing products.

• Take ownership of the product roadmap, balancing enhancements with new functionalities.

• Ensure product alignment with the overarching platform strategy and commercial goals.

• Analyze the competitive landscape within the finance and purchasing software sector.

• Lead customer discovery efforts, identifying areas of concern and validating assumptions.

• Conduct interviews, observation sessions, and contextual research with MAT finance teams, business managers, and budget stakeholders.

• Integrate insights from customer interviews, support data, usage analytics, and NPS into problem statements and opportunity evaluations.

• Develop and test prototypes and minimal viable products (MVPs) in collaboration with design.

• Advocate for data-driven product decisions.

• Make prioritization decisions that balance customer impact, business value, and technical feasibility.

• Define and track product metrics and measurable outcomes.

• Translate roadmap priorities into delivery cycles in partnership with engineering and design teams.

• Collaborate with other Product Managers (PMs) and Product Owners (POs) to address cross-product dependencies and shared planning efforts.

• Work closely with engineering and design teams throughout the delivery process.

• Leverage AI tools to enhance specifications, synthesis, and product analysis.

• Evaluate product performance post-launch and drive continuous improvements.

• Collaborate with Support, Implementation, and Sales teams to gather feedback and facilitate adoption.

• Work alongside Customer Success and Marketing on go-to-market initiatives.

• Represent the customer perspective of the products in cross-functional discussions.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in product management or product ownership within B2B SaaS, generally 4+ years.

• Demonstrated ability to manage an established product and adapt it to meet customer needs and commercial opportunities.

• Strong skills in customer discovery, including conducting interviews and synthesizing insights.

• Experience in defining and monitoring product metrics, including leading indicators that predict retention and adoption.

• Excellent judgment in prioritization and capability to make and justify difficult trade-off decisions.

• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to present data and propose alternatives.

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

• Familiarity with product management tools such as Monday.com, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.

• Active usage of AI tools for product management tasks.

• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Desirable: experience in finance, accounting, purchasing, procurement, or spend-management software.

• Desirable: working knowledge of core finance and accounting processes.

• Desirable: insight into MAT budgeting, curriculum financial planning, or school funding workflows.

• Desirable: understanding of MAT structures, the UK education landscape, or school finance governance.

• Desirable: experience in EdTech, school Management Information Systems (MIS), or education finance systems.

• Desirable: experience in contexts where the buyer and daily user differ, emphasizing financial controls, approvals, and audit trails.

• Desirable: formal training in product discovery.

• Desirable: experience with Claude or Lovable.

• No specific educational qualifications are required.
