Product Engineer

Posted 5 days ago

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the problem: Assume responsibility for the results, engage directly with users, stakeholders, and colleagues to identify issues, translate business objectives into functional requirements, determine critical areas for human judgment, and manage the technical specifications.

• Develop with AI: Produce high-quality code throughout the stack (Python, Django, AWS, React, PostgreSQL), guide agents, assess and enhance agent performance, lead projects involving other Product Engineers and agents, and participate in architectural decision-making.

• Validate and Improve: Identify delivery risks early on, confirm the end-to-end outcomes, promote the adoption of your deliverables, oversee services in production, engage in support rotations, and refine solutions until you achieve impactful results.

• Elevate Standards: Rapidly advance your skills, understand the trade-offs associated with technical debt, and adhere to engineering standards for quality, reliability, and operational excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in developing production web applications across the entire stack. The years mentioned are the baseline, not the limit.

• Proven track record of end-to-end ownership. You have successfully taken a project from concept to deployment, including all behind-the-scenes aspects (authentication, failure handling, monitoring, documentation). Experience may come from employment, freelance endeavors, or personal projects. What you’ve managed from start to finish is valued more than how you achieved it.

• Expertise in utilizing AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, OpenAI Codex, or similar) and a commitment to staying informed about the evolving landscape of AI development practices.

• Demonstrated ability to gather requirements directly. You have conducted interviews with users, customers, and partner teams, transforming vague intentions into specifications that engineers and agents can act upon.

• Experience in owning both functional and non-functional requirements. You have articulated what a system must accomplish and maintained standards for performance and quality.

• A history of independently managing a domain or initiative without close supervision. You have successfully navigated uncertainty, made informed decisions, and taken responsibility for the outcomes, even in smaller or personal projects.

• Strong sense of ownership and a proactive approach. You do not wait passively; you actively seek out stakeholders, customers, and information when necessary.

• Intellectual curiosity about the domain. You strive to understand the business context of your work, not just the technical systems. You recognize the significance of the problems you address, beyond merely knowing how to solve them.

• Exceptional communication skills across engineering, product, and business teams, able to convey technical complexities in an understandable manner.

• Low ego and high emotional intelligence (EQ). You can influence others without formal authority, accept feedback graciously, and set aside ego in technical decision-making.

• Experience collaborating with distributed, remote teams.
