Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Egypt.

📋 Description

• Transform intricate knowledge graphs and data structures into clear interfaces for users without technical backgrounds.

• Establish information hierarchy, interaction patterns, responsive behaviors, visual systems, and manage edge cases.

• Create data visualizations that illustrate relationships, progressions, mastery, trends, distributions, and comparisons.

• Develop consistent visualization systems across different views.

• Design for datasets that range from a few items to thousands of relationships.

• Consider API behavior, including scenarios involving missing data, lengthy content, empty states, loading states, errors, overflow, and variable datasets.

• Construct scalable design systems featuring reusable components, tokens, states, variants, responsive rules, documentation, and accessibility elements.

• Develop interactive prototypes using HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Framer, or similar tools.

• Provide design annotations and facilitate engineering handoffs.

• Collaborate with the Founder on product strategy and work alongside frontend engineers within a defined API framework.

• Conduct tests with actual users and iterate designs based on empirical evidence.

• Strong expertise in Figma.

• Proven experience in designing products that have been successfully launched.

• Knowledge of effective data visualization techniques and awareness of potential misrepresentations.

• Experience with complicated visualizations, including network/graph structures, multivariate comparisons, temporal trends, or distribution views.

• Capability to design for dynamic content and real-world datasets.

• Ability to foresee edge cases and interaction states.

• Understanding of responsive design principles and the limitations of hardware and performance environments.

• Practical knowledge of WCAG AA accessibility standards.

• Comfort in collaborating with APIs, understanding technical constraints, and working with frontend engineers.

• Proficiency in prototyping using HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Framer, or similar technologies.

• Strong focus on typography, hierarchy, density, motion, color, and interaction.

• Ability to validate work through real user feedback and articulate decisions based on user and product outcomes.

• Portfolio showcasing 2–3 robust case studies that highlight problem constraints, reasoning, process, outcomes, and impacts where applicable.

• At least one portfolio project that demonstrates substantial experience in complex data visualization.

• At least one portfolio project that features a launched product, functioning application, production design system, or released feature.

• Thoughtful application of AI tools to enhance speed, quality, exploration, research, prototyping, or production workflows.
