Lead Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design vision and implementation for co-development projects, serving as the main design partner for internal teams and client stakeholders.

• Propel gameplay, systems, level, and technical design efforts from initial concept to final delivery.

• Collaborate with engineering, art, production, and QA teams to deliver captivating, high-quality player experiences.

• Provide creative direction, mentorship, and constructive feedback to designers across various disciplines.

• Prototype, validate, and refine gameplay features, progression systems, level designs, and mechanics for player engagement.

• Assess and enhance gameplay flow, combat scenarios, boss challenges, and overall game balance, with a focus on FPS and action-oriented experiences.

• Identify potential design risks early, address complex production issues, and uphold design quality throughout the development process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Lead Designer, Principal Designer, or Design Director on released commercial titles.

• Extensive knowledge of Unreal Engine.

• Strong grasp of gameplay, systems, and level design principles.

• Experience in leading cross-functional teams.

• Proven ability to work directly with clients or external development partners.

• Strong background in FPS design.

• History of enhancing gameplay flow, combat encounters, progression, and player engagement.

• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and mentoring abilities.

• Nice to have: experience in developing immersive VR experiences for Meta Quest.

• Nice to have: strong client-facing communication and stakeholder relationship management skills.
