Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Lead product design efforts from identifying problems and developing concepts to implementation and ongoing enhancement.

• Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to comprehend business goals, user requirements, product specifications, and success metrics.

• Illustrate user journeys, workflows, information architecture, and interaction models for intricate digital experiences.

• Develop sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to convey and validate potential solutions.

• Design seamless and coherent experiences across web, mobile, kiosks, and other pertinent digital interfaces.

• Work alongside Engineering teams to assess technical limitations and ensure precise design execution.

• Utilize and enhance shared design-system components, patterns, standards, and documentation.

• Engage in research and usability validation activities, integrating insights into product decisions.

• Present design solutions and effectively articulate the rationale, assumptions, and trade-offs involved.

• Balance user needs, business objectives, technical feasibility, and delivery schedules.

• Collaborate across multiple product teams while ensuring alignment within the wider digital ecosystem.

• Identify opportunities to enhance existing experiences using customer feedback, research insights, product data, and stakeholder contributions.

• Review implemented features and partner with Engineering and QA to guarantee the final experience adheres to intended design standards.

• Participate in design critiques, product planning discussions, and the ongoing enhancement of the team’s design methodologies.

• Utilize Figma as the primary design tool; AI-based design tools are not currently part of the approved workflow.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Product Design, UX/UI Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 4 years of professional experience in designing digital products and comprehensive user experiences.

• A robust portfolio showcasing product thinking, problem identification, user flows, interaction design, prototyping, and final UI execution.

• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including the ability to create interactive prototypes, components, variants, auto layout, and utilize shared libraries.

• Experience managing design processes throughout the product development lifecycle.

• Strong understanding of user-centered design, information architecture, interaction design, usability, and accessibility principles.

• Capability to translate business goals and user needs into clear and effective product experiences.

• Experience in simplifying complex workflows and creating scalable solutions across various products or platforms.

• Proven experience collaborating with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, Analysts, and Designers.

• Familiarity with design systems and component-based product development.

• Proficient in presenting design rationale, facilitating consensus, and constructively responding to stakeholder feedback.

• Ability to work autonomously, navigate uncertainty, and progress initiatives with minimal supervision.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Advanced English proficiency for daily interaction with international stakeholders.

• A compelling portfolio that features end-to-end product design case studies.

• Advanced hands-on expertise with Figma.

• Experience overseeing the complete product design lifecycle.

• Proven experience designing customer-facing web and mobile products.
