This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary subject-matter expert regarding actuarial and calculation logic for illustrations and policy management.
• Convert life insurance and annuity product specifications into actionable system logic, which includes crediting mechanisms, rider functionalities and charges, benefit base calculations, and surrender charge schedules.
• Collaborate closely with the Engineering team on product and policy administration capabilities.
• Utilize AI tools to swiftly prototype, code, and evaluate calculation logic.
• Assist with policy migrations and the conversion of legacy in-force blocks while maintaining original calculation logic.
• Verify system performance aligns with product intent and address any discrepancies.
• Facilitate User Acceptance Testing for product rollouts and platform improvements.
• Document methodologies for product calculations, business rules, and implementation choices.
• Partner with carrier and vendor implementation teams to introduce new products and functionalities.
• Engage with teams across Software Product, Customer Experience, Data Science, User Experience, Actuarial, Legal/Compliance, Engineering, and Sales.
• Report to the Senior Actuary.
• Over 8 years of experience in the life insurance industry.
• 3–5 years of direct experience in constructing pricing models or implementing illustration and policy administration systems.
• Proficient in working with insurance software, including real-world intricacies and edge cases.
• Extensive knowledge of life and annuity products, such as IUL, VUL, FIA, and intricate riders.
• Familiarity with calculations and transactions executed in illustration and policy administration systems.
• Capability to link actuarial calculations to policy administration workflows and downstream processes.
• Experience with agentic coding tools and workflows is advantageous.
• Background in supporting policy migrations or legacy block conversions is highly desirable.
• ASA or FSA actuarial credentials are strongly preferred; candidates without formal credentials will be considered based on equivalent technical expertise.
• Excellent written communication and documentation abilities.
• Comfortable in building processes and making decisions in a dynamic environment.
• Must reside within the contiguous 48 United States.
