Procurement Specialist, Capital

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Category Managers to implement activities that support Capital expenditures across the Corporation.

• Partner with regional Procurement and business units to ensure the efficient execution of tactical procurement tasks, including the preparation of electronic Requests for Proposal and electronic auctions, administration of value capture, and transactional order processing as needed.

• Maintain alignment with Finance business partners throughout all stages of the capital procurement process.

• Develop comprehensive negotiation strategies and conduct successful negotiations.

• Foster an environment of ongoing value creation with a world-class supply base.

• Identify and pursue opportunities for cost savings and cost avoidance.

• Effectively manage risks through collaboration and contracting.

• Ensure that contractual agreements comply with policies, processes, and governance regarding negotiations, contract approval, execution, and adherence to procurement policies.

• Suggest new sources for goods and services to the Corporation.

• Reduce the Corporation's working capital by employing various strategies such as leasing agreements and extended payment terms.

• Produce business case reports to document projects that generate value for the Corporation.

• Ensure that relevant KPIs and KRIs are achieved or surpassed. Secure tiered pricing whenever feasible for varying unit volumes.

• Adhere to a Communication Plan for the flow of information to and from all stakeholders.

• Engage in regular internal and external meetings as outlined in the Communication Plan.

• Conduct sourcing activities on a global scale to derive value from suppliers.

• Aim to minimize total ownership costs while maximizing value to the Corporation.

• Provide management reports as needed.

• Uphold the highest standards of professionalism both internally and externally.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering disciplines.

• Preferred recognized qualification in Procurement or equivalent.

• Preferably have practical experience with eSourcing and conducting eRFP, eRFQ, eRFI, as well as forward and reverse auctions.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Capital Procurement.

• Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences industry is preferred.

• Demonstrated leadership experience and knowledge in negotiation preparation and execution.

• Strong working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), with Oracle or SAP and MRP knowledge considered advantageous.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
