Procurement Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the design, implementation, operation, and strategic execution of Nooks’ comprehensive procurement process.

• Oversee the intake and request flow, manage stakeholder inquiries, establish approval thresholds, and facilitate vendor onboarding.

• Direct vendor management and maintain the renewal timeline.

• Evaluate vendor usage and explore alternatives to identify redundancy, excess, cost-saving, and optimization opportunities.

• Collaborate with budget managers to negotiate new and renewing contracts for SaaS, AI, infrastructure, and data products.

• Benchmark pricing, structure multi-year and usage-based agreements, and develop forecasts for deal structures.

• Establish procurement review procedures and determine when to engage Legal, Compliance, IT, Finance, and Executive teams.

• Enhance spend visibility and sustain a vendor expense forecast.

• Classify vendor expenditures, monitor realized savings against the plan, and report findings to Finance, company leadership, and budget managers.

• Assess procurement tools and utilize AI to create an efficient procurement stack.

• Act as the primary knowledge resource regarding vendor relationships, usage, performance, and ROI.

• Report directly to the VP of Finance.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4-7+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or vendor management, with direct responsibility in a high-growth technology or SaaS setting.

• Proven success in leading intricate commercial negotiations across SaaS and service contracts.

• Experience in developing and refining procurement policies, processes, and tools, including automation.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting commercial contracts and order forms.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities, capable of influencing budget owners and department leaders without direct authority.

• Background in working with AI tools within a Finance or Operations role.

• Knowledgeable about procurement and spend management platforms.

• Strong analytical capabilities and expert-level proficiency in Excel, model-building, and forecasting.

• Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment.
