This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• The Director of Procurement is responsible for leading sourcing strategies and optimizing procurement processes, systems, and tools throughout the region.

• Oversees a spend portfolio exceeding $800M in both direct and indirect goods and services across various sourcing categories, including Laboratory/Operating Supplies and Services, Technology, Travel, Fleet, Professional Services, Field Equipment, Logistics, Real Estate, and Facilities within a large, complex, dynamic, and regulated matrix organization.

• Establishes and nurtures regional business partner relationships with key stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive understanding of needs and strategies that deliver sustainable and profitable efficiencies in P&L.

• Aids in the development of regional category subject matter experts and drives strategies for supply chain and category management.

• Acts as an integral member of the regional Procurement Leadership Team to propel strategy and implement sourcing and procurement initiatives while adhering to internal standards, policies, and procedures.

• Identifies and spearheads initiatives that enhance the maturity of the Procurement and Vendor Management functions.

• Develops and promotes reporting, governance, knowledge management, and communication throughout the business.

• Ensures effective risk management and control over the supply base through robust contracts, monitoring financial SLAs and KPIs, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies, systems, and controls.

• Proposes, designs, and executes best practices and policies for sourcing and procurement.

• Facilitates the deployment of superior supplier performance and relationship management programs.

• Manages and rationalizes a significant number of suppliers to optimize the regional supply base and undertakes other assigned responsibilities.

• Provides leadership to cross-functional business partners to maximize and continually enhance the “total cost of ownership” for indirect goods and services.

• Ensures adherence to policies, systems, and controls.

• Complies with internal standards, policies, and procedures, and performs additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of experience in procurement management.

• More than 5 years of supervisory experience.

• A Master's degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or an MBA, along with the aforementioned experience (preferred).

• Possession of a Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) designation.

• Proficient in English (Advanced) – required.

• Exceptional analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Technologically adept and proficient in financial analytics.

• Advanced skills in using the GEP eSourcing tool (or other eSourcing tools) and Oracle E-Business Suite.

• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and negotiation skills.

• A customer/client-focused mindset.

• Ability to understand and interpret financial and regulatory information.

• Capable of effectively communicating and working with all organizational levels.

• Skilled in presenting and discussing confidential information and addressing inquiries from leadership.

• Demonstrated leadership qualities, confidence, and executive presence, with an ability to inspire staff.

• Proven track record in developing and implementing policies, projects, processes, systems, and controls within a large, complex, dynamic, and regulated matrix organization.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

• Proficient in organizing and managing multiple tasks and initiatives concurrently.

• Capable of building trust and fostering team effectiveness.

• Able to diplomatically exert influence and create a positive impact both within and outside the organization.

• Possesses self-motivation and a results-oriented attitude.

• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).

• Occasional travel required (5%-33%).
