This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +4 more states.
• Create and implement strategic sourcing and category management initiatives that support both short- and long-term business objectives.
• Evaluate category spending, market dynamics, supplier capabilities, and business needs to uncover sourcing opportunities and initiatives for cost optimization.
• Oversee competitive sourcing processes, encompassing RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, evaluations, negotiations, and the selection of suppliers.
• Act as a reliable advisor to IT leadership and business stakeholders regarding procurement strategies, contract conditions, supplier management, and technology investments.
• Collaborate with IT, Finance, Legal, Information Security, and other stakeholders to ensure procurement efforts are in line with business priorities and compliance mandates.
• Negotiate intricate contracts, pricing arrangements, licensing agreements, statements of work (SOWs), and service-level agreements (SLAs) to secure the best commercial results.
• Cultivate strategic supplier relationships and implement governance measures to oversee vendor performance, risk, service delivery, and adherence to contracts.
• Assist in annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning by delivering market insights, cost estimates, and sourcing recommendations.
• Pinpoint and champion initiatives for cost savings, cost avoidance, and value creation across the IT expenditure portfolio.
• Formulate and sustain category strategies, sourcing roadmaps, and metrics for supplier performance.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, controls, and governance standards throughout the sourcing lifecycle.
• Prepare and present executive-level reports, business cases, and project updates to senior leadership.
• Aid business stakeholders with ROI assessments, business justification creation, and total cost of ownership evaluations for technology investments.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes, stakeholder interactions, and supplier performance.
• A Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Information Technology, Finance, or a related discipline; relevant experience will be taken into account.
• Over 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement, primarily focusing on Information Technology categories.
• Proven experience in sourcing and negotiating agreements for software, SaaS, cloud services, hardware, telecommunications, cybersecurity, and IT professional services.
• Strong knowledge of software licensing frameworks, cloud consumption contracts, IT vendor management, and best practices in technology procurement.
• Experience in managing complex sourcing projects and supplier negotiations with top-tier technology providers.
• Demonstrated capability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels, including senior and executive leadership.
• Experience working collaboratively across functions with IT, Finance, Legal, Information Security, Compliance, and business teams.
• Strong analytical, financial, contract negotiation, and project management competencies.
• Ability to assess supplier risks, evaluate business cases, and achieve tangible cost savings and value enhancements.
