
Probate Paralegal – 1099 Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Prepare and draft probate petitions, pleadings, inventories, accountings, fiduciary documents, and related court filings.
• Manage probate cases from the initiation of the estate to the final distribution and closure.
• Draft and amend estate planning documents, which include wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and other related documents.
• Generate correspondence, engagement letters, and communications for clients.
• Collaborate with clients, beneficiaries, fiduciaries, financial institutions, title companies, and court personnel.
• Track court deadlines and ensure accurate maintenance of case calendars.
• Organize and preserve electronic client files and legal records.
• Assist attorneys in gathering estate assets, preparing inventories, and organizing supporting documentation.
• Schedule client meetings and support attorney calendar management.
• Uphold strict confidentiality and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Probate Paralegal or Legal Assistant.
• Extensive experience in managing probate administration from estate opening to final closure.
• Proficient in drafting probate pleadings, petitions, inventories, accountings, fiduciary documents, and related court filings.
• Experience in estate planning, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related documents.
• Strong understanding of probate court procedures and filing requirements.
• Experience in direct communication with clients, courts, financial institutions, and fiduciaries.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Exceptional organizational, proofreading, and time management skills.
• Capability to prioritize multiple matters independently in a deadline-oriented environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and legal practice management software such as Clio, MyCase, or similar platforms.
• Must be knowledgeable in California law.
• Preferred: experience working within California jurisdictions.
• Preferred: familiarity with electronic court filing systems in California.
• Preferred: experience with trust administration in California.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a fully remote setting.
• Must be a resident of the United States.
