This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the comprehensive design and execution of XPRIZE competitions—from identifying the problem and establishing success metrics to performing research, engaging stakeholders, defining the prize model, and creating final design documentation. This process is structured and guided by the Prize Design Director, with input from the Director at critical decision points to ensure alignment with organizational goals and quality benchmarks.
• Quickly adapt when the Prize Design Director changes project priorities or alters design direction mid-cycle, while sustaining momentum and adhering to timelines.
• Formulate project plans, budgets, and schedules, collaborating with the Project Manager to ensure that deliverables meet both deadlines and quality expectations.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams and partners, ensuring alignment and connectivity with Domain Leads, leadership, and Advancement concerning strategy, content, and positioning.
• Identify and engage external experts and stakeholders, which includes designing and facilitating workshops, interviews, and other participatory research methods to inform design decisions.
• Foster positive relationships with sponsors by providing clear communication, updates, and deliverables that align with both sponsor objectives and XPRIZE’s standards.
• Contribute to organization-wide ideation and concept development initiatives, such as Global Visioneering and prize idea workshops.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• 5-7 years of experience in product management, product design, project management, consulting, or other relevant fields.
• Proven experience in applying research, analytical, and creative problem-solving abilities in areas such as engineering, physical or life sciences, data science, economics, or technology-driven research, with a combination of rigor and innovation; familiarity with business strategy or public policy is an advantage.
• Proficient in essential product management skills, including budget oversight, contractual compliance, client relations, and the design, execution, evaluation, and delivery of projects.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and product design capabilities.
• Experience in design and design thinking, including problem definition, breaking down specific sub-problems, determining the right issues to address, and blending creative and analytical approaches to identify potential design elements.
• Demonstrates proficiency and understanding of the subject matter when communicating with experts and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
• Remote-first environment (must reside and work in the United States).
