This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Investigate incidents related to privacy and carry out risk assessments.
• Coordinate and prepare breach notifications as necessary or mandated.
• Offer training assistance to junior team members on privacy incident investigations and documentation.
• Oversee and enhance various components of the privacy program, including privacy pop-ins, monthly community meetings, and reviews of organizational privacy training.
• Identify and suggest opportunities for process improvements.
• Address, resolve, and follow up on assigned issues while adhering to regulatory and self-imposed service level agreements (SLAs).
• Develop and maintain policies, standards, guidelines, and processes related to privacy.
• Lead privacy initiatives for HIPAA Risk Assessments and other relevant audits and evaluations.
• Conduct physical monitoring to ensure the security of protected health information (PHI) in workspaces.
• Review and approve new or modified member and marketing materials from a privacy standpoint.
• Spearhead privacy initiatives supporting Privacy Impact Assessments.
• Communicate the privacy program and foster a culture of privacy throughout the organization.
• Monitor emerging privacy laws, enforcement actions, and developments within the privacy domain.
• Collaborate with key internal stakeholders.
• Identify and report potential risks, instances of non-compliance, and alleged violations.
• Perform other designated job functions.
• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience is mandatory.
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience working as a privacy professional or in a similar role is essential.
• Five (5) years of experience in a Managed Care Organization or another healthcare-related field is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
• Skilled in keyboarding.
• Familiarity with the privacy regulatory landscape.
• Competence in navigating a high-growth business environment.
• Working knowledge of health plan policies and procedures.
• Strong analytical abilities and capacity to evaluate complex privacy risks.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting and adjust priorities accordingly.
• Effective problem-solving aptitude with keen attention to detail.
• Capability to set, prioritize, and achieve goals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
