• Deliver patient care by eliminating obstacles to medication access.
• Collaborate with insurance providers and clinician offices to expedite medication approvals through prior authorizations.
• Offer phone support to patients by navigating pharmacy dispensing systems to process claims, refill medications, and enhance patient adherence.
• Communicate directly with insurance companies to facilitate medication approval.
• Utilize pharmacy operating systems to enter data, perform adjudication on test claims, and develop follow-up action plans.
• Effectively document patient concerns, prior authorization statuses, and financial assistance needs across databases, electronic medical records, and emails.
• Review prescriptions with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of patient interactions.
• Assist patients in managing their pharmacy insurance claims.
• Collaborate closely with pharmacists and pharmacy liaisons to provide integrated, high-quality patient care.
• Directly communicate with patients over the phone to support all aspects of medication compliance.
• Research and analyze information to enable informed decision-making for others.
• Manage, organize, and update pertinent data utilizing database applications.
• Apply insights and recommendations to operational challenges, enhancing productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
• Identify trends, troubleshoot issues, recommend enhancements, and implement changes.
• Actively engage in process improvement initiatives.
• Serve as a valued business partner to stakeholders across the organization.
• Safeguard the organization's integrity by maintaining confidentiality of information.
• Enhance job knowledge through educational opportunities, reading professional literature, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
• Minimal travel, either in-state or out-of-state, may be required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Must be state registered or certified as a pharmacy technician.
• National certification as a CPhT or an equivalent qualification is strongly preferred but not mandatory.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
