This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +1 more state.
• Lead the strategy and execution of cultural resource initiatives across the Great Basin.
• Function as a permitted BLM Principal Investigator in Idaho and adjacent Great Basin areas.
• Acquire BLM Cultural Resources Use Permits along with other necessary federal and state permits.
• Provide senior-level quality assurance and quality control for cultural resource outputs.
• Supervise desktop studies and field investigations, which include reconnaissance surveys, pedestrian surveys, testing, excavations, and construction monitoring.
• Mentor, guide, manage, and develop archaeologists at various career stages.
• Collaborate with Cultural Resources Business Unit Leads, the Consulting Director for Archaeology, Area Managers, and Managing Partners.
• Act as Principal Investigator and/or Task Manager for cultural resource assessments linked to significant capital projects.
• Oversee projects ranging from multi-state linear infrastructure initiatives to site-specific investigations.
• Enhance ERM’s cultural resources consulting market presence and share through technical delivery and business development efforts.
• Strengthen client relationships and forge new partnerships that drive revenue growth.
• Identify opportunities for cross-selling cultural resources services.
• Work alongside environmental planners, biologists, wetland specialists, GIS professionals, engineers, and other technical experts.
• Represent ERM in discussions and communications with clients, agencies, stakeholders, teaming partners, and subcontractors.
• Manage subcontractors to ensure adherence to quality, scheduling, and performance standards.
• Oversee project quality, budgets, timelines, and client expectations.
• A graduate degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6–8 years of relevant paid experience.
• Secretary of the Interior-qualified archaeologist recognized as a Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA).
• Qualifications that meet or exceed SHPO requirements within the Great Basin.
• Proven field experience and principal-level oversight throughout the Great Basin, encompassing inventory, survey, testing, and data recovery.
• Experience in authoring or reviewing agency-reviewed technical reports, including Class I and Class III technical reports, NEPA documentation, Cultural Resources Treatment Plans, and other regulatory compliance documents.
• Experience engaging directly with regulatory agencies while advocating for client interests.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within teams of archaeologists and multidisciplinary technical specialists.
• Willingness and ability to travel occasionally throughout the Great Basin.
• Familiarity with GPS equipment, total stations, ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, and related software applications.
• Valid driver's license and/or capacity to operate a company vehicle.
• Preferred: Existing BLM permitting credentials and experience in obtaining permits across multiple Great Basin jurisdictions.
• Preferred: Established relationships with federal, state, tribal, and local regulatory agencies.
• Preferred: Experience in business development and managing key client relationships.
• Preferred: Proven success in leading large, complex cultural resource programs for energy, infrastructure, or natural resource clients.
• Preferred: Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams across geographically diverse areas.
