This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Spearhead the design and integration of intricate subsystems for cutting-edge semiconductor capital equipment.
• Design mechanical, thermal, fluid, and structural solutions that enhance system performance and reliability.
• Work collaboratively with clients and cross-functional teams throughout the entire product lifecycle.
• Evaluate, enhance, and define subsystem architectures that impact overall system performance.
• Engage in Co-Innovation via Subsystem Architecture & Design.
• Create comprehensive CAD models and engineering drawings for mechanical subsystems.
• Assess system and subsystem interfaces, requirements, and specifications.
• Lead the decomposition of requirements and ensure traceability in both directions.
• Develop validation strategies for subsystems and formulate verification plans.
• Conduct structural, thermal, dynamic, and vacuum-related analyses utilizing advanced FEA tools.
• Oversee risk assessments, including FMEAs and root cause analyses.
• Validate system reliability through load-path evaluation and stress analysis.
• Facilitate cross-functional design reviews and drive the integration of subsystems.
• Advocate for DFX, VAVE, Lean methodologies, and initiatives for continuous improvement.
• Mentor entry-level engineers and shape the engineering culture.
• Ensure compliance with global regulatory standards in design.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in semiconductor capital equipment or wafer fabrication, advanced packaging environments.
• Proficient in mechanical design, precision systems engineering, mechatronics, power systems, and fluid/vacuum systems.
• Skilled in FEA, CAD, and tools for structural/thermal analysis.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and ability to collaborate across functions.
• Proven track record in leading reviews, guiding teams, and engaging with customers.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
• Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, systems, or a related engineering discipline.
• Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree in mechanical or systems engineering.
• Experience in the design of semiconductor mechanical systems.
• Practical experience in prototyping and engaging with global suppliers.
