Principal Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the full requirements capture and management process throughout the project lifecycle.

• Establish the systems engineering methodology, governance, and lifecycle strategy for intricate naval programs.

• Define and spearhead the Verification and Validation strategy, methods, and acceptance criteria.

• Lead the development and oversight of system/subsystem specifications and interface definitions.

• Create and manage architectural modeling, including use cases, functional, logical, and physical architectures, as well as behavior and data flows.

• Enhance configuration and traceability within the Siemens Teamcenter PLM environment.

• Develop compliance evidence in accordance with naval ship regulations, legislation, and international standards.

• Offer technical leadership, mentor colleagues, and guide decisions with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Oversee Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities for strategically significant naval and government projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Robust, hands-on systems engineering experience in naval/marine or similarly regulated, safety/assurance-focused environments.

• Proven experience managing architecture, requirements, interfaces, configuration control, and change management.

• Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

• Capability to collaborate across various disciplines and influence senior stakeholders.

• A degree in Systems, Electrical, or Control Engineering, or a related field.

• Ability to pass BPSS security checks.

• Eligibility for SC clearance may be necessary depending on the project.

• Experience with automation, autonomy, digital twins, AI, predictive diagnostics, or smart maintenance is a plus.
