This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Customer Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor for clients, guiding them through their data engineering and architecture requirements, emphasizing Databricks solutions. In this position, you will evenly divide your time between billable tasks and pre-sales activities.
• Technical Leadership: Design, construct, and implement comprehensive data solutions that capture, transform, and utilize data to support AI, ML, and business intelligence projects. Propel technological innovation by offering thought leadership regarding data trends.
• Pre-Sales Support: Work alongside sales teams to showcase technical solutions to potential clients, highlighting the value of SunnyData's services.
• Project Oversight: Oversee multiple client accounts, ensuring timely solution delivery and monitoring progress to report results.
• Solution Design: Create data architectures, integrating best practices in data governance, security, and quality assurance.
• Data Analysis: Assess data sources for their worth, suggesting data inclusion strategies to enhance analytical processes.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration and Leadership: Guide internal teams, offering direction and mentorship to project teams to deliver solutions and educate end users on data products and analytic environments.
• Problem Resolution: Conduct system analysis, evaluate and rectify data and system defects, and implement suitable corrections.
• Quality Assurance: Validate data movement, transformation code, and data components to guarantee accuracy and reliability.
• Experience: Over 10 years as a hands-on Solutions Architect and/or Senior Data Engineer, with a recent focus on implementing data solutions centered on Databricks.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in Data Engineering technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka), the Databricks platform, and data science/machine learning tools (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn).
• Architecture and Leadership Skills: Comprehensive understanding of the complete data analytics workflow (e.g., data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration) utilizing modern data engineering methods.
• Programming Skills: Skilled in Java, Python, and/or Scala.
• Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• SQL Expertise: Capable of writing, debugging, and optimizing SQL queries.
• Client-Facing Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with experience in client-facing positions.
• Presentation Skills: Proficient in creating and delivering detailed presentations to clients and stakeholders.
• Documentation: Familiar with producing detailed solution documentation, including POCs, roadmaps, sequence diagrams, class hierarchies, and logical system views.
• End-to-End Solutions: Ability to develop comprehensive technical solutions for production, ensuring performance, security, scalability, and effective data integration.
• Team Leadership: Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and developing a team of engineers.
