• Facilitate decision-making and alignment between Partners and Canva engineering teams.

• Articulate the reasons why a partner's suggested solution may not be feasible, propose realistic alternatives, and guide decision-making.

• Establish the technical direction for Canva's external platform surface.

• Anchor partner discussions in practical, working code.

• Assess proposed solutions against Canva's existing architecture.

• Illustrate how a modification could be represented in code.

• Lead product-line engineering efforts across our external platform surfaces.

• Shape strategic engagements with partners and customers.

• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering.

• Experience in positions that bridge partner engineering, platform engineering, and product.

• Developed developer platforms, rather than merely advocating for them.

• Delivered production code on platforms utilized by external developers.

• In-depth technical knowledge of the contemporary AI platform stack.

• Strong viewpoints on MCP, tool usage, agentic API design, and the trade-offs involved.

• Experience in shipping or integrating with MCP (such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Copilot, or Gemini variations) is a plus.

• Proficient in TypeScript and comfortable working with both front-end (React) and server-side JavaScript.

• Capable of understanding a Java backend even if you prefer not to write one.

• Proven history of transforming ambiguous partner feedback into clear engineering decisions.
