
Principal Software Engineer – Streaming Insights

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Design, develop, and implement critical aviation intelligence projects.
• Create real-time data streaming and inference systems.
• Develop solutions for high-throughput data availability.
• Utilize AI/ML techniques to convert raw data into actionable insights.
• Strategize and communicate project tasks effectively.
• Leverage technologies to manage very large datasets.
• Address open-ended challenges related to performance, efficiency, and scalability.
• Enhance aviation products and predictions utilized by airlines and airports.
• Manage production workloads on Kubernetes.
• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate within an agile development framework.
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Must have authorization to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• Intermediate proficiency in Rust.
• Experience with Python.
• Familiarity with Unix-style systems, including basic administration tasks.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes for managing production workloads.
• Proven track record of building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
• Ability to operate within an agile development environment.
• Preferred: Experience with AWS, including EKS, IAM, VPCs, and networking.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Kafka.
• Preferred: Experience with Nix.
• Preferred: Understanding of distributed systems, reliability, and scalability concepts.
• Preferred: Experience with observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Thanos.
• Preferred: Familiarity with modern ETL orchestration tools like Dagster or Airflow.
• Preferred: Background in production ML/AI systems and MLOps.
• Preferred: Experience in infrastructure performance and cost optimization.
• Preferred: Knowledge of large-scale data processing systems such as Iceberg, Spark, Elasticsearch, etc.
• Preferred: Experience with hybrid cloud and on-premises Kubernetes infrastructures.
