This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Design, develop, and implement essential aviation intelligence initiatives that involve real-time data streaming and inference, high-throughput data accessibility, AI/ML, and transforming raw data into actionable insights.
• Assist in planning and communicating project tasks.
• Create solutions for extensive, open-ended datasets and intricate performance and efficiency challenges.
• Construct and sustain production data and infrastructure systems.
• Enhance products that aid airlines and airports in minimizing missed flights and delays through predictive analytics.
• Collaborate within a small Aviation Intelligence team in a larger organizational setting.
• Share ideas and expand beyond responsibilities focused solely on execution.
• Generally requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related discipline with at least 5 years of experience.
• Must possess authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for company immigration sponsorship, both now and in the future.
• Intermediate or advanced proficiency in Rust.
• Experience with Python.
• Familiarity with Unix-style systems, including basic administration and task management.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes for operating production workloads.
• Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, GitHub Actions, or equivalent tools.
• Capability to work within an agile development framework.
• Preferred: familiarity with AWS, encompassing EKS, IAM, VPCs, and networking.
• Preferred: experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Preferred: knowledge of Kafka.
• Preferred: experience with Nix.
• Preferred: strong understanding of distributed systems, reliability, and scalability.
• Preferred: experience with observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Thanos.
• Preferred: familiarity with Dagster, Airflow, or other modern ETL orchestration tools.
• Preferred: background in production ML/AI systems and MLOps.
• Preferred: experience in optimizing infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency.
• Preferred: knowledge of Iceberg, Spark, Elasticsearch, and other large-scale data processing platforms.
• Preferred: experience in hybrid infrastructure environments that include both cloud and on-premises Kubernetes.
