Principal Software Engineer – Desktop and Mobile Applications

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain high-performance desktop and mobile applications tailored for HiFi audio enthusiasts across Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux, steering the technical direction and ensuring smooth cross-platform experiences.

• Spearhead cross-platform development initiatives primarily utilizing C# and .NET technologies, leveraging extensive expertise to enhance scalability, maintainability, and the long-term evolution of products.

• Architect and refine intricate systems that handle audio content, music metadata, and low-latency audio streaming over local networks, employing your deep understanding of network protocols and concurrency models to provide robust solutions.

• Act as a technical leader and mentor, guiding team members in best practices related to architecture, performance profiling, and troubleshooting, while elevating the overall technical standard.

• Proactively identify and mitigate risks in project delivery, articulate complex technical concepts to stakeholders, and influence decisions to ensure alignment of engineering efforts with business objectives.

• Integrate modern AI-assisted development workflows into your daily engineering tasks, utilizing tools such as Claude Code, Codex, and other similar coding assistants to accelerate implementation, explore solutions, generate tests, review code, and enhance developer productivity.

• Foster innovation in audio streaming and system architecture by recommending and executing advanced solutions that improve user experience, performance, and reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of professional software engineering experience, including responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of complex projects.

• Significant experience with C# and .NET technologies.

• Strong foundational knowledge of systems software encompassing data storage, processing, memory management, filesystems, networking, and concurrency.

• Solid comprehension of network protocols and cross-platform development for Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux.

• Proficiency in automated pipelines for continuous build and integration systems (CI/CD).

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar tools in practical software engineering workflows.

• Familiarity with containerization and virtualization technologies (Docker, VMware, HyperV, etc.) and software packaging for these environments.

• A keen curiosity and practical interest in leveraging AI to enhance engineering productivity, code quality, testing, and developer workflows.
