Principal Software Engineer – Core Blockchain

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical leadership to teams while collaborating closely with management and stakeholders to establish strategic roadmaps for intricate Layer-1 blockchain initiatives.

• Oversee individual projects, manage priorities, deadlines, and deliverables leveraging your technical acumen.

• Guide and train fellow team members on design methodologies, coding standards, and foundational blockchain principles.

• Participate in the architecture and execution of sophisticated software components within the blockchain ecosystem.

• Assume complete ownership of essential software components pertaining to our L1.

• Innovate and develop new consensus and protocol software solutions.

• Ensure optimization of performance while enhancing the scalability and reliability of the software.

• Troubleshoot issues, debug errors, and refine code to bolster the reliability and security of Shardeum's software components.

• The technology stack you will be utilizing includes: Nodejs, TypeScript, SQLite, Postgres, React, and Vuejs.

• The development environment comprises: Linux, Git, AWS, Docker, and VS Code.

• Significant experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex blockchain components.

• A strong understanding of high-quality code and the ability to cultivate an environment that promotes its creation.

• Proficiency in algorithms and data structures.

• Capability to swiftly adapt to new programming languages and technologies.

• Skill in writing clean yet efficient code.

• Creativity to develop proof of concepts from high-level designs, even in often ambiguous situations.

• Practical knowledge and experience with AI tools (such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Cline, etc.), and the ability to demonstrate their application in daily tasks.

• Self-driven to prioritize tasks and systematically advance towards objectives.

• Ability to communicate effectively and articulate your ideas when discussing technical subjects with team members.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
