Principal Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the architecture for both product and platform.

• Define and enhance the architecture of platforms and applications, which includes service boundaries, integration patterns, data modeling, and API standards.

• Lead architecture assessments and influence product roadmaps to strike a balance between immediate delivery and long-term simplicity, maintainability, and performance.

• Identify systemic opportunities within the product/platform and facilitate execution across teams.

• Introduce innovative technologies and best practices.

• Elevate engineering quality through clear communication.

• Address the most challenging problems that span multiple teams.

• Guide architectural decisions for global cloud deployments.

• Assist in preparing for FedRAMP/government cloud certification readiness.

• Mentor engineers across various teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A decade of overall experience.

• A minimum of five years in a Staff or Principal engineer role at B2B SaaS startups.

• Strong proficiency in: Java/J2EE, Oracle, Postgres, AWS, GCP, Azure, and contemporary frontend frameworks (React, Vue.js).

• Demonstrated success in establishing architectural direction across multiple teams.

• Excellent systems design capabilities: scalability, reliability, performance, data consistency, and operational maturity.

• Experience with global cloud systems and large-scale production operations (multi-region deployments, DR/BCP, observability).

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
