This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Design and architect systems while working in a dynamic agile start-up development setting, utilizing AI technologies.
• Concentrate on backend development for all product offerings.
• Serve as a bridge between engineering teams and the wider business objectives.

• Lead architectural evaluations and design review sessions.
• Collaborate effectively with QA teams to enhance automated testing coverage.
• Manage incident response and postmortem procedures to implement best practices.
• Foster the growth of fellow engineers through thorough code reviews and constructive feedback.
• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering.
• Recent involvement in a small, agile team contributing to all stages of the software development lifecycle within a start-up context.
• Primary expertise in Go, with comfort in working within existing .NET and TypeScript codebases.
• Experience in implementing event-driven architecture in microservices environments using tools such as Apache Kafka.
• Proficient in creating database schemas that represent and support business processes.
• Strong grasp of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
• Significant experience with AWS platforms, including an understanding of their capabilities and limitations.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Demonstrated capability to operate effectively across organizational boundaries, with a comfort in influencing without formal authority.
• Solid software engineering fundamentals, with experience in multi-product architectures.
• Experience in environments characterized by acquisitions or rapid growth.
• A proven track record of making well-informed technical decisions.
