Principal Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Evaluating system performance, identifying issues, designing, developing, and implementing effective solutions.

• Crafting and deploying scalable, high-quality software solutions that cater to complex technical requirements and business objectives.

• Developing tools that enable the swift detection of system performance issues, minimizing delays and inefficiencies.

• Educating fellow Akamai team members to effectively identify performance-related problems.

• Working collaboratively with various teams within the organization to efficiently and effectively implement proposed solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience along with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

• A thorough understanding of MySQL, including its internals and performance aspects.

• An in-depth knowledge of the Linux kernel and computer system architectures.

• Experience with virtualization technologies such as Qemu and KVM, as well as hardware offload technologies like VDPA, DPDK, and SR-IOV.

• Familiarity with performance analysis tools including Linux perf, bcc tools, BPF, and others.

• Experience in concurrent programming, data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.

• Proficiency in network protocols, including IP, IPv6, TCP, and UDP.
