Principal Software Engineer

📋 Description

• Design and spearhead the development of essential systems, services, and infrastructure with an emphasis on reliability, security, performance, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with product and program leaders to ensure engineering solutions meet user requirements, regulatory standards, and business objectives.

• Establish and refine technical standards throughout the organization.

• Tackle technical debt, enhance the quality of code reviews, and lead initiatives to boost team productivity and code quality.

• Provide coaching and mentoring to engineers across various teams.

• Research and assess new technologies to foster innovation, reduce complexity, and support scalability.

• Directly contribute to codebases, particularly in architectural foundations, prototypes, and critical or high-risk areas.

• Identify deficiencies, encourage collaboration, and assist teams in overcoming obstacles without taking control.

• Promote and enhance the engineering culture.

• Assist in recruiting and onboarding top-tier talent.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of experience as an engineer across various technology stacks.

• Extensive experience in building and scaling distributed systems.

• Proven track record of functioning as a technical leader, establishing direction, influencing others, and achieving results without formal authority.

• Strong grounding in software engineering best practices, including CI/CD, observability, automated testing, and infrastructure as code.

• Experience with cloud-native systems, preferably AWS.

• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Comprehensive understanding of relational and non-relational databases.

• Demonstrated success in a highly regulated setting, preferably in healthcare.

• Knowledge of compliance and data protection regulations, such as HIPAA.

• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

• Comfortable representing engineering in discussions with executives and in product strategy.
