This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
• Ensuring that systems developed for new initiatives are designed effectively and are scalable.
• Assessing current systems and infrastructure to identify opportunities for architectural improvements, reduce redundancy, and enhance system performance and robustness.
• Recognizing key recurring patterns that lead to incidents and non-project-related overhead, and formulating a plan to address these issues.
• Promoting enhancements in the reliability and performance of our systems.
• Advancing development practices, encompassing design reviews, testing, deployment, and incident management.
• Performing architectural deep-dives and mentoring key members across all service teams.
• Collaborating with the broader team to achieve organizational goals, even if it involves tasks outside the defined scope of your role.
• Over 15 years of professional experience in software development.
• More than 5 years of experience as a technical leader overseeing multiple teams.
• At least 2 years of experience managing architecture across multiple teams consisting of 35 or more engineers.
• Proven track record of developing business-critical systems at scale, designed to operate in the cloud.
• History of delivering significant outcomes for the business under challenging deadlines.
• Proficiency in more than one technology stack, including Go, PHP, Java, RoR, Python, etc.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to articulate ideas succinctly.
• Competence in moderating technical discussions, managing diverse viewpoints, and making swift decisions.
• Expertise in distributed systems and constructing multi-region cloud systems (preferable but not mandatory).
• In-depth knowledge of domain-driven software development (preferable but not mandatory).
• Ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers while actively participating in their work (preferable but not mandatory).
• Experience in the retail or eCommerce domain (preferable but not mandatory).
• Background in people management responsibilities (preferable but not mandatory).
