Principal Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Engage in hands-on coding to create scalable backend services and infrastructure.

• Offer technical leadership and guidance for software architecture and design choices.

• Mentor and assist developers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and enhancement.

• Design and sustain reliable, secure, and high-performance cloud services.

• Uphold high code quality through automated deployments, unit and integration testing, and ongoing improvement practices.

• Clearly and thoroughly document and present technical solutions.

• Assist the engineering manager in ensuring the timely delivery of team commitments.

• Participate in on-call rotations for production systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in Software Development, focusing on enterprise-level cloud services.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• Proficient in building cloud services using Java with Spring or TypeScript.

• Strong grasp of cloud architecture, serverless computing, microservices, infrastructure as code, GitOps, and AWS best practices.

• Familiarity with front-end frameworks and libraries, including React, NestJS, and Next.js.

• Practical experience with AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS, SQS, and SNS.

• Knowledge of security principles, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.

• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker.

• Proficient with both relational and NoSQL databases, including data modeling, ORM frameworks, and caching strategies.

• Experience in designing and working with distributed systems and RESTful APIs, including integration with APIs from internal and external teams.

• Ability to monitor backend performance, identify improvement areas, and implement optimizations for scalability, response times, and resource utilization.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
