Principal Resource Geologist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Create geological models and interpretations.

• Develop block models for estimating mineral resources and reserves.

• Engage in the preparation of NI 43-101 Reports or their international counterparts.

• Conduct due diligence assessments to facilitate project financing, mergers, and acquisitions.

• Oversee projects, providing leadership to other geologists and third-party consulting firms.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to merge geological insights with scientific, planning, and engineering disciplines.

• Ensure successful project execution in terms of health and safety, scope, schedule, budget, QA/QC, and client satisfaction.

• Draft proposals and contribute to the development plans for service lines, business sectors, and client relationships.

• Interact with clients to foster relationships and guarantee exceptional service delivery.

• Guide and mentor junior geologists.

• Take part in both internal and external training and mentorship programs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or Geological Engineering.

• 15-20+ years of experience in minerals exploration, operations, and resource estimation.

• Certification as a Qualified Person (QP) is mandatory.

• Proficient in geostatistics and estimation techniques, including ordinary kriging and inverse distance weighting.

• Skilled in modeling various commodities and geological terranes, such as Carlin, porphyry, and skarn.

• Multi-commodity background in precious and base metals.

• Expertise in 3D Mine Modeling software like Leapfrog, Vulcan, MinePlan, Datamine, or MicroMine.

• Experienced in geological and block modeling, domaining, grade capping, and QA/QC processes.

• Authored or co-authored SK 1300 and/or NI 43-101 Technical Reports, or other CRIRSCO standard documentation.

• Knowledgeable in resource classification, cutoff grade development, and the application of modifying factors.

• Professional certifications or affiliations (CPG, SME-RM, MMSA) are preferred.

• Experience with audits, due diligence, and third-party evaluations is advantageous.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel or Access, or other database management tools.

• Strong project management capabilities for overseeing large-scale initiatives.

• Excellent communication skills in English.

• Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
