This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Create and execute automation frameworks and testing strategies that guarantee system stability, resilience, and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to guide and influence test design, architectural choices, and development practices that ensure built-in quality.
• Work throughout the engineering organization to establish patterns and practices for unit, integration, and end-to-end testing that are in line with CI/CD and deployment pipelines.
• Lead projects that leverage AI-assisted testing, intelligent validation, and self-healing test automation to enhance quality across teams.
• Act as a technical mentor and coach, instructing engineers on how to develop improved tests, enhance observability, and critically assess user outcomes.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to ensure that user stories are testable, measurable, and aligned with customer needs.
• Promote a shift-left quality culture by integrating testing feedback early in the design and development processes.
• Actively engage in design reviews, pairing sessions, and architecture discussions to enhance system reliability and testability.
• Collaborate with Platform and DevSecOps teams to establish automated quality gates, release verification, and quality metrics dashboards.
• Continuously improve automation coverage, performance, and reliability through experimentation and data-driven insights.
• Interact with customers and support teams to grasp real-world use cases and ensure that quality automation reflects customer realities.
• Advocate for quality engineering practices throughout the organization via documentation, workshops, and leadership within the internal community.
• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering or quality automation within large-scale, enterprise-level systems.
• Demonstrated success in designing and implementing automation frameworks across various platforms and architectures.
• Extensive knowledge of modern test automation frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Jest, etc.) and their integration with CI/CD systems.
• Robust background in software architecture, APIs, and event-driven systems, with an understanding of designing for testability and observability.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools or frameworks (e.g., code generation, model-based testing, or anomaly detection in test data).
• Experience in cloud-native environments, preferably AWS, with an understanding of infrastructure automation and quality validation during deployment.
• Practical experience with Extreme Programming (XP) or similar collaborative methodologies such as TDD, pairing, and continuous delivery.
• Exposure to event-driven architectures, microservices, and contract testing.
• Strong grasp of data-driven quality metrics and DORA-style performance indicators.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in complex environments that require alignment, diplomacy, and influence.
