Principal Product Manager – Industrial AI, Aerospace and Defense

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Develop the operating model and long-term product vision for Industrial AI projects related to aircraft, engine, and component maintenance.

• Identify category-level opportunities and perform market and competitive assessments, including TAM/SAM/SOM sizing, for AI-driven Aerospace & Defense maintenance solutions.

• Collaborate with airlines, MRO providers, OEMs, and defense operators to gather requirements and validate solutions using actual customer evidence.

• Leverage domain knowledge, customer insights, and input from subject matter experts in maintenance, engine overhaul, records and compliance, and asset management processes.

• Oversee AI governance within the domain, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, compliance standards, and responsible-AI guidelines.

• Partner with engineering and data science teams for AI-native implementation and define AI features and AI-assisted workflows.

• Establish institutional standards and PRD schemas applicable throughout the domain.

• Create investment cases and financial models to prioritize the AI product portfolio, maintaining accountability for portfolio and P&L.

• Formulate and execute go-to-market strategies, pricing, and sales initiatives.

• Communicate roadmap and investment updates to senior leadership and the board.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive product management experience in enterprise or industrial software.

• Experience in the Aerospace & Defense sector is highly advantageous.

• Familiarity with aviation maintenance, airline or MRO operations, engine overhaul, asset management, or safety-critical regulated environments is beneficial.

• Ability to rapidly learn complex domains and collaborate closely with subject matter experts.

• Capability to convert customer requirements into AI-enabled product strategies.

• Demonstrated success in leading AI-driven product initiatives, such as predictive maintenance, digital twins, or AI-assisted maintenance workflows.

• Outstanding communication and leadership abilities.

• Experience in managing cross-functional teams.

• Proficiency in presenting to senior leadership and the board.

• Knowledge of Line and Base Maintenance, engine overhaul, records and compliance, and asset management processes.

• Experience in AI governance, safety and compliance standards, and responsible-AI guidelines.

• Experience collaborating with engineering and data science teams for AI-native delivery.

• Familiarity with TAM/SAM/SOM sizing, financial modeling, portfolio prioritization, P&L accountability, go-to-market strategies, pricing, and sales initiatives.
