Principal Product Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the strategy and roadmap development for B2 products, ensuring effective execution of delivery.

• Oversee the complete product development lifecycle, from initial discovery to the final delivery of features.

• Collect and synthesize insights for discovery and prioritization from internal departments, customers, and partners in R&D, addressing feature capabilities, user experience challenges, cost efficiencies, and technical debt.

• Convert intricate customer challenges into actionable product requirements in collaboration with Design, Engineering, and GTM teams.

• Partner with Product Marketing to successfully launch and promote new products and features.

• Serve as a subject matter expert and advocate for Backblaze solutions, delivering presentations to customers, prospects, partners, and internal teams.

• Set and monitor product KPIs, utilizing data to inform iterative improvements and growth strategies.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of advancements in the object storage market, customer applications, and competitive offerings to identify opportunities and uphold market leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Product Management within technology companies, ideally focusing on IaaS and/or SaaS products.

• Demonstrated history of successfully launching and scaling technical products or platforms in high-growth environments, requiring extensive cross-functional collaboration and leadership across R&D and go-to-market teams.

• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, APIs, and security and compliance protocols.

• Proven ability to manage product roadmaps, define MVPs, and oversee the entire product lifecycle.

• Strategic thinker capable of translating market trends, customer requirements, and technical innovations into a coherent product vision and actionable roadmap.

• Deep empathy for customers and users, with a passion for addressing security challenges through input gathering and synthesis.

• Exceptional communication and leadership abilities, fostering a collaborative and team-centric approach to problem-solving, identifying solutions, and building consensus.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Experience in utilizing data and metrics to drive product decisions and assess success.
