Principal Product Designer

📋 Description

• Report directly to the VP of Design

• Take full ownership of the complete design process for new product features, from initial concept to final shipping, collaborating closely with product and engineering teams throughout

• Utilize AI tools during your workflow (we employ Cursor and Claude Code to enhance design iterations and depend on working prototypes to validate ideas prior to shipping)

• Articulate and justify design choices to both internal and external stakeholders, always keeping users' needs at the forefront

• Manage our qualitative research initiatives and engage with users directly to transform insights into product directions

• Influence both short- and long-term product strategy as the design representative, partnering with product and engineering from the discovery phase to delivery

• Proven experience in delivering products within a high-growth startup environment; you understand what it takes to successfully bring projects to completion

• A genuine interest in users and a knack for converting complex research into clear product direction

• Capable of simplifying intricate problems to find the right balance of flexibility, power, and usability

• AI-first approach in your work, with a discerning perspective on where they provide value

• Exceptional communicator who can effectively manage upwards and collaborate across various functions, advocating for quality design without needing to fight for it

• A proactive self-starter who excels in a hands-off management setting, takes initiative with a 'roll up your sleeves' attitude, is comfortable with uncertainty, and propels work forward with minimal guidance
