This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Establish and propel the design vision for Dropbox’s extensive multi-product ecosystem that assists customers in discovering, comprehending, activating, and engaging with the content stored in Dropbox.
• Create AI-enhanced experiences that empower customers to be more effective while retaining their decision-making authority. Ensure that AI functions as a reliable partner: minimizing friction, highlighting what is essential, expediting decisions, and maintaining customer control.
• Manage ambiguous, high-impact product domains from strategic conceptualization through execution, transforming emerging AI capabilities into straightforward, elegant, high-trust experiences that feel powerful without becoming cumbersome, noisy, or hard to navigate.
• Uphold an exceptionally high standard across interaction design, information architecture, systems thinking, prototyping, content, visual quality, and implementation. Ensure the product embodies precision, coherence, and unmistakably represents Dropbox.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Marketing, and Design leadership to shape strategy, prioritize high-impact opportunities, align teams, and drive outcomes with a sense of urgency and quality.
• Elevate the design organization by mentoring designers, enhancing critique processes, exemplifying excellent AI product design, and assisting the team in becoming more proficient in exploring, prototyping, evaluating, and delivering work.
• Over 12 years of product design experience, with a proven record of leading complex, ambiguous, high-impact product initiatives from vision through to large-scale launch.
• A portfolio that showcases Principal-level craftsmanship, product judgment, systems thinking, customer empathy, and the capacity to deliver experiences that customers comprehend, trust, and appreciate.
• Exceptional executional versatility, with the ability to transition seamlessly from long-term strategy and narrative to detailed flows, interaction models, prototypes, edge cases, content, and implementation quality.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior cross-functional partners, foster alignment through clear storytelling, and steer product direction in dynamic, ambiguous environments.
• Strong capability to convert emerging capabilities into simple, useful, and intuitive product experiences that minimize friction, preserve customer agency, and facilitate meaningful work.
• A collaborative, low-ego leadership approach, with a history of mentoring designers, elevating standards, refining critique, and empowering teams to produce superior work than they could individually.
• Experience in designing end-to-end experiences across multiple products, surfaces, or platforms, with a strong aptitude for creating coherence throughout complex user journeys.
• A portfolio that reveals a distinct design sensibility, showcasing the candidate’s taste, principles, and product philosophy within the work itself.
• A proven ability to simplify complex systems, workflows, or mental models into experiences that feel premium, intuitive, and user-friendly.
