Principal Mobile Engineer – POS Terminal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.

📋 Description

• Lead the design and architecture of POS terminal solutions.

• Ensure the security, scalability, performance, and integration with hardware and payment systems.

• Develop and maintain architectural documents and diagrams.

• Make architectural decisions related to payment technologies, EMV standards, and hardware compatibility.

• Oversee the development of applications related to POS.

• Optimize performance and security for payment processing and EMV protocols.

• Engage in planning activities with product and engineering teams.

• Conduct code reviews and uphold best practices for mobile and embedded systems.

• Enhance engineering efficiency and developer productivity across POS teams.

• Ensure stability and reliability of products and applications.

• Monitor system performance and resolve issues as they arise.

• Mentor engineering teams and contribute to the overarching technical vision.

• Participate in recruitment and screening of engineers specializing in POS, mobile, and embedded development.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in system design, architecture, and development, with a focus on the POS terminal domain.

• Proficient in Android Native development using Java/Kotlin.

• Extensive understanding of Android-based POS terminal solutions.

• Experience with cross-platform mobile development, such as Flutter.

• Familiarity with C and JavaScript for POS application platforms is advantageous.

• Strong knowledge of EMV security protocols, including chip-based transactions, encryption, and key management.

• Experience with hardware integration for POS devices, including card readers, pin pads, printers, and other peripherals.

• Comprehensive understanding of payment systems architecture, including integration with payment processors and gateways.

• Knowledge of software quality assurance principles and their application within financial systems.

• Ability to manage complex system interactions and adapt to evolving requirements.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills, including mentoring engineers and promoting process improvements.
