This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the technical authority and lead for all mechanical engineering aspects related to power delivery projects.
• Supervise and evaluate the design of HVAC systems, oil containment, cooling systems, piping, conduit supports, equipment enclosures, and other mechanical components for substations and associated facilities.
• Spearhead the creation and assessment of calculations, specifications, design drawings, and construction documentation.
• Provide mechanical design expertise for transformer installations, gas-insulated substations (GIS), and high-voltage equipment layouts.
• Assist with thermal and ventilation studies to ensure that substation environments uphold safe and efficient operating conditions.
• Collaborate with civil, electrical, and structural teams to deliver fully integrated and constructible design solutions.
• Conduct site visits and field assessments to gather data, validate conditions, and support construction and commissioning efforts.
• Manage project scopes, timelines, budgets, and deliverables to guarantee high-quality and timely project completion.
• Lead the formulation of standards, procedures, and best practices for mechanical design in power delivery scenarios.
• Mentor and offer technical guidance to mechanical engineers, designers, and CAD technicians.
• Function as a client-facing technical expert, presenting engineering solutions, addressing complex challenges, and aiding in business development initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with QA/QC processes, safety regulations, and applicable codes (ASME, NFPA, API, IEEE, and NESC).
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• Over 10 years of mechanical engineering experience in power delivery, substations, or energy infrastructure.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred.
• Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and mechanical systems for substation or industrial facilities.
• Proficiency with design and analysis software such as AutoCAD, Revit, CFD, Pipe-Flo, or Thermoflow.
• Expertise in using FEA software (e.g., ANSYS and/or SolidWorks) and modeling CAD software.
• In-depth knowledge of industry standards (ASME, NFPA, API, IEEE, NESC, and IEC).
• Demonstrated experience in project management, team leadership, and client relations.
