Principal Low-Level Graphics Programmer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Lead the strategy for engine-level rendering across various platforms.

• Design and implement advanced rendering back-ends along with low-level features.

• Create and enhance a GPU-driven rendering pipeline.

• Build robust systems for low-level GPU memory management.

• Oversee a cross-platform shader compilation pipeline.

• Design and optimize infrastructure for hardware-accelerated ray tracing.

• Profile, analyze, and resolve GPU bottlenecks while reducing GPU pipeline stalls.

• Mentor and elevate the engineering team's skills in modern API paradigms and low-level hardware debugging techniques.

• Take ownership of intricate graphics features from the planning stage to delivery.

• Collaborate with content creators to ensure assets are aligned with performance and technical standards.

• Direct architectural decisions and present graphics strategies to directors, producers, clients, and external partners.


⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience in developing core rendering engine infrastructure.

• Expert-level knowledge of modern graphics APIs, especially DirectX 12.

• Proficient in C++ and GPU programming.

• Thorough understanding of bindless architectures, GPU-driven rendering, and asynchronous GPU computing.

• Extensive knowledge of modern GPU microarchitecture across PC and console platforms.

• In-depth understanding of hardware ray tracing architecture and acceleration structures.

• Experience with GPU memory management in contemporary APIs.

• Expert command of low-level profiling and debugging tools.

• Substantial experience with modern console platforms.

• Experience with Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 is an advantage.

• Strong aspiration to keep abreast of the latest GPU technologies and methodologies.

• Comfortable with owning complex graphics features from inception to completion.

• Proactive in identifying risks, trade-offs, and technical solutions.

• Experience in collaboration with content creators.

• Strong mentorship capabilities.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to drive technical decisions and present graphics strategies.
