This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, construct, and manage enterprise Kubernetes platforms for secure hybrid cloud and on-premises settings.
• Architect scalable, highly available, and resilient platform services to ensure secure software delivery.
• Develop reusable platform functionalities for application deployment, operations, and lifecycle management.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code, automation, and continuous delivery methodologies.
• Engineer secure Kubernetes services featuring identity management, policy enforcement, workload isolation, secrets management, and platform fortification.
• Optimize performance, scalability, networking, storage, resource utilization, and operational health.
• Troubleshoot intricate production issues across Kubernetes, Linux, networking, storage, and distributed systems.
• Collaborate with platform, cloud, cybersecurity, and software development teams.
• Enhance observability through metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards, and proactive monitoring.
• Assess platform technologies and suggest improvements.
• Develop engineering standards, technical documentation, and architectural guidance.
• Provide technical leadership via architecture reviews, design discussions, mentoring, and engineering best practices.
• Deliver platform capabilities that expedite software delivery and enhance developer productivity.
• Act as the organization’s trusted technical authority on Kubernetes and platform engineering.
• Master's degree with over 15 years of relevant experience or a doctorate with more than 13 years of relevant experience; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• More than 8 years of progressively responsible experience in designing, building, and operating production Kubernetes platforms.
• Strong expertise in Azure Cloud Engineering and Cloud Infrastructure.
• Proficiency in designing, building, securing, and operating enterprise Kubernetes platforms for highly available production workloads.
• Experience in engineering cloud-native infrastructure in both hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
• Solid understanding of Linux, networking, container technologies, distributed systems, platform security, and observability.
• Capability to architect platform solutions and promote engineering best practices.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
• Current CompTIA Security+ certification or an equivalent Department of Defense-approved Information Assurance certification.
