This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon, +1 more state.
• Oversee cultural resources projects, identify business development opportunities, and successfully manage archaeological and historical resources projects independently, including directing field studies and supervising field teams.
• Serve as the Lead/Principal investigator for cultural resources initiatives, which encompass conducting research, archaeological field surveys, monitoring, testing, and data recovery projects, along with historical research, preservation efforts, report preparation, site forms, and curation of archaeological artifacts.
• Coordinate the mobilization and demobilization processes for project sites.
• Ensure effective and independent management of archaeological and historical resources projects, including overseeing field studies and leading field teams.
• Provide support for Section 106 and Section 110 of the NHPA, which includes analysis, technical studies, and project permitting for a diverse range of private, federal, state, local government clients, and tribal organizations.
• Mentor staff and project managers, offering technical and operational resources while supervising cultural staff.
• Lead technical and strategic aspects of proposal development, including defining scope, schedule, and budget.
• Meet project scope, schedule, and budget commitments in project management tasks.
• Ensure the production of high-quality technical deliverables through the implementation of independent quality review protocols.
• Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related discipline.
• Registered Professional Archaeologist.
• Ability to obtain state permits for archaeology.
• A minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience, with a preference for eight (8) years in progressively responsible cultural resource roles, including management or educational experience in the desert southwest and intermountain west regions; experience with architectural historians is a plus.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail, organization, and the capability to manage multiple tasks collaboratively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated skills and experience in project planning, development, and management.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision.
• Proficient in the MS Office suite, with strong interpersonal skills and exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Must successfully pass pre-employment and post-employment drug and alcohol screenings.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
