Principal Geologist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Provide technical guidance and support for mining initiatives within RESPEC’s Mining and Engineering Market Sector.

• Deliver exceptional geological services centered on resource modeling, resource estimation, and Qualified Person (QP) oversight.

• Enhance project delivery and uphold technical excellence.

• Mentor team members and contribute to business expansion within the Mining & Energy market sector.

• Lead and engage in complex mining projects.

• Offer technical direction to multidisciplinary teams.

• Ensure project deliverables align with client expectations, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Assist in business development activities and proposal creation.

• Manage client relationships effectively.

• Support recruitment and staff development initiatives.

• Represent RESPEC at industry events, conferences, and professional gatherings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in geology or geological engineering.

• At least 15-20 years of experience in applied geology throughout the mining value chain with a focus on modeling and estimation, including technical leadership positions in consulting.

• Strong expertise in geological modeling software and data analytics tools.

• Professional designation such as Professional Geologist (P.G) or P.Geo (Canada) and/or CPG (AIPG).

• Proven ability to think strategically and establish long-term goals.

• Experience with a diverse range of commodities and deposit types.

• Strong business acumen and commercial judgment.

• Must hold a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.

• The role requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel.

• Preferred candidates should be based in or willing to work from Reno, Nevada; qualified applicants from Denver, Colorado and Tucson, Arizona are also encouraged to apply.
