Principal Engineer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, architect, and take ownership of services within the policy platform.

• Assess the current landscape of policy management, distribution, and enforcement.

• Facilitate design reviews and build consensus on architectural choices.

• Advocate for AI-enhanced development methodologies.

• Manage complex projects from inception to completion.

• Collaborate with Product Management, Security, and Operations to ensure alignment on requirements.

• Guide engineers through code reviews and design discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of practical backend development experience in Python, Node.js, or Go.

• At least 5 years of experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS or GCP.

• Proven track record in architecting distributed systems with a focus on reliability, scalability, and low-latency performance.

• Direct experience in developing, debugging, and troubleshooting backend services within Linux environments.

• Familiarity with networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, TLS, HTTP/2, DNS, and proxying.

• Experience with policy or rules engines, configuration distribution systems, or real-time traffic analysis.

• Demonstrated ability in designing and executing large-scale data or schema migrations.

• Proficiency in data storage and analytics technologies such as Redis, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Apache Druid.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools.

• Strong understanding of HTTP security protocols.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities.
