Principal Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Define and spearhead a long-term technical architecture strategy for core platform systems.

• Lead the design of large-scale distributed systems for high-volume B2B fintech products.

• Architect robust, scalable, and secure payment and financial infrastructures.

• Establish engineering best practices focused on reliability, scalability, observability, and security.

• Influence the technical direction across various engineering teams.

• Lead initiatives for AI transformation throughout engineering and operations.

• Design systems that utilize AI agents, LLM workflows, and intelligent automation.

• Promote the adoption of AI-assisted developer tools and operational automation.

• Architect secure integrations with digital asset ecosystems and contemporary payment rails.

• Mentor senior engineers and technical leaders.

• Collaborate with Product, Data, Security, Compliance, and Executive leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• 12–18 years of experience in software engineering.

• Demonstrated experience operating at the Staff+ / Principal Engineer level.

• Strong background in building scalable distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.

• Extensive expertise in backend systems, APIs, microservices, and platform engineering.

• Experience in high-growth fintech or modern technology organizations.

• Strong practical coding and architectural skills.
