This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Identify, analyze, and establish traceability for requirements
• Design and develop FPGA/ASIC/SoPC digital architectures
• Create RTL design code and simulations using VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog
• Develop UVM constrained-random test environments utilizing SystemVerilog
• Establish placement and timing constraints
• Conduct synthesis, place and route processes
• Perform static timing analysis, linting, LEC, and clock-domain-crossing evaluations
• Validate FPGA/ASIC/SoPC designs through inspection, analysis, simulation, and testing
• Generate DO-254 DAL-A certification artifacts for airborne electronic systems
• Engage in and conduct peer reviews throughout the product development lifecycle
• Participate in FAA SOI auditing processes
• Prepare engineering bids and assist with RFIs and RFPs
• Maintain communication with Engineering, Program Management, internal leadership, and clients
• Lead engineering teams and/or undertake project engineering responsibilities
• Suggest tools and methodologies to enhance FPGA/ASIC design workflows
• Mentor and guide engineering staff
• Provide support for Collins Avionics displays, computing, networking, and other aviation solutions
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related discipline
• Expertise in writing RTL and/or testbenches using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog
• Familiarity with Linux or Unix environments, scripting, C/C++, Python, and/or Perl
• Experience with FPGA-specific tools like Questasim, Vivado, Libero, and Synplify Pro
• Knowledge of data interfaces including PCIe, DDR, I2C, Ethernet, CDN, and ARINC-429
• Proficient in device-level timing and clock-domain crossing
• Ability to work independently as part of a globally distributed engineering team
• Experience with UVM constrained-random methodology is preferred
• Familiarity with DO-254 design assurance processes is preferred
• Knowledge of video and/or networking concepts and architectures is preferred
• Proficient in chip-level verification techniques including constrained random, functional coverage, code coverage, LEC, and SystemVerilog is preferred
• Experience in managing cost, schedule, and performance goals is preferred
• Knowledge of risk management practices is preferred
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under the program/contract
