This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.
• Act as the Engineer of Record (EOR) for electrical design on significant projects, establishing technical direction and ensuring high standards of design quality.
• Oversee and execute intricate electrical system designs and calculations for power distribution, lighting, backup generation, and control systems.
• Review, authenticate, and endorse engineering drawings and specifications.
• Provide quality assurance and technical supervision for submittals, RFIs, change orders, record drawings, and construction administration.
• Conduct site observations, inspections, and take part in commissioning activities.
• Create and uphold technical standards, guidelines, and best practices related to electrical design.
• Draft and refine equipment specifications, choose systems and devices, and collaborate with other design disciplines.
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring technical accuracy and timely completion.
• Mentor and offer technical advice to junior and mid-level engineering personnel.
• Assist in business development and client engagement, which includes delivering technical presentations and contributing to proposals.
• A minimum of 8 years of professional electrical engineering design experience within the construction sector.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• A valid Professional Engineer (PE) license (Electrical) is required and must be in good standing.
• Proven experience serving as Engineer of Record (EOR) for electrical systems.
• Demonstrated leadership in electrical design for data centers, industrial facilities, commercial buildings, or comparable large-scale projects.
• Strong leadership abilities with a track record of managing and mentoring engineering teams.
• Comprehensive knowledge of NFPA Standards, NEC, and both international and national building codes.
• Advanced skills in power distribution, standby and emergency systems, and generator control systems.
• Proven experience in producing Protective Device Coordination and Arc Flash studies.
• Preferred proficiency in Medium Voltage equipment selection and specification.
• A strategic thinker capable of influencing technical direction and supporting long-term organizational objectives.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and presentation capabilities.
• Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM, and Revit.
