Principal DevOps Engineer

📋 Description

• Design, oversee, and enhance EKS clusters by utilizing contemporary best practices.

• Create and sustain Helm charts to ensure scalable and uniform application deployments.

• Establish and manage reproducible infrastructure-as-code across various environments with Terraform and Terragrunt.

• Track AWS usage and apply strategies to minimize unnecessary cloud expenses without affecting performance or reliability.

• Implement and uphold metrics, logging, and alerting systems to enhance availability and performance.

• Enforce least-privilege IAM policies, secure networking, and efficient secrets management.

• Collaborate with development, product, and security teams to devise infrastructure solutions and spearhead large-scale engineering projects.

• Guide engineers and set benchmarks for DevOps excellence throughout the organization.

• Propel infrastructure strategy, cross-team initiatives, cloud expenditure optimization, and best practices in deployment, observability, and security.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure, or SRE, including at least 2 years in a senior or principal-level position.

• Extensive expertise with AWS services, including EKS, EC2, IAM, VPC, and S3.

• Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes in production settings.

• Proficient in using Helm for managing application lifecycles.

• Strong practical experience with Terraform and Terragrunt.

• Adept at scripting in Bash, Python, or Go.

• Experience in developing and maintaining GitOps workflows, such as Argo CD.

• Demonstrated ability to monitor, analyze, and reduce AWS expenditures.

• Solid understanding of Linux, networking, and cloud security principles.

• Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative, leadership-driven approach.

• Familiarity with regulated or high-compliance environments like SOC 2, HIPAA, or PCI is preferred.

• Experience with the LGTM monitoring stack is a plus.

• Knowledge of Karpenter, ExternalDNS, or EBS CSI driver is advantageous.

• Contributions to open source or DevOps communities are welcomed.
