This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Administer, oversee, and enhance OCCU's Microsoft SQL Server database environment alongside its supporting infrastructure.
• Ensure proper configuration of database systems for storage, backup and recovery, capacity management, high availability, and optimal performance.
• Diagnose and resolve intricate database challenges, production incidents, and escalation requests.
• Design, optimize, and sustain both logical and physical database structures to foster business expansion and operational efficiency.
• Create, improve, and maintain ETL processes, data integrations, and solutions for data movement.
• Provide highly available, secure, and dependable database services that support critical business applications.
• Manage access controls, permissions, and security standards for databases.
• Develop automation, monitoring, performance tuning, and operational enhancements to improve system stability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, infrastructure teams, and vendors to assess solutions and support technology initiatives.
• Offer technical expertise to infrastructure projects, technology strategy formulation, and ongoing improvement efforts.
• Uphold production support standards, maintain system documentation, manage configuration records, and establish operational procedures.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience managing Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, including query optimization, performance tuning, and database design.
• Experience in designing and supporting high-availability database solutions, backup and recovery strategies, and real-time monitoring systems.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities to resolve complex technical challenges.
• Experience in creating and refining ETL processes and supporting enterprise data integration strategies.
• Knowledge of Microsoft systems and application technologies.
• Experience in implementing, deploying, and supporting system, software, and configuration modifications.
• Familiarity with ITIL environments, including change management and configuration management practices.
• Experience with scripting languages, automation tools, and optimization of database performance.
• Capability to assess technologies, vendors, and solutions against both business and technical criteria.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and technology teams.
