This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Define the strategic vision for advanced analytics throughout the organization
• Provide essential insights, actionable recommendations, and production-ready systems that influence key business outcomes
• Oversee the creation of highly complex, scalable, reliable, and maintainable analytical solutions
• Offer subject matter expertise and technical guidance to data science teams and senior management
• Deliver technical leadership and mentorship to data scientists and technical leads
• Establish and promote best practices, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing
• Identify and incorporate innovative technologies and methodologies
• Shape analytics strategy while aligning data science efforts with business goals
• Analyze and address highly complex data science challenges and devise novel approaches
• Select and implement advanced methods and techniques using independent judgment
• Collaborate with executive leadership, product management, and stakeholders on product strategy
• Transform business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Identify and mitigate significant technical risks and uncertainties across projects and systems
• Over 12 years of progressive experience in data science, machine learning, or optimization models
• Significant history of leading impactful, organization-wide or industry-defining technical initiatives
• Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or a related field, or equivalent extensive practical experience
• Advanced skills in multiple programming languages, including Python and R
• Proficiency with relevant libraries, such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Spark
• Extensive experience with big data technologies, including Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka
• Significant experience with cloud-based analytics platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP
• In-depth knowledge of data modeling techniques, including deep learning, Bayesian networks, and causal inference
• Comprehensive knowledge of statistical methods, such as Bayesian analysis, causal inference, and time series analysis
• Capability to create engaging data visualizations for executive audiences
• Ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Acknowledged expertise in advanced analytics practices with the ability to mentor and guide data scientists
• A PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, or a related field is preferred
