Principal Data Consultant – AI Readiness

📋 Description

• Take charge of the success of intricate engagements, focusing on delivery quality, client satisfaction, financial results, business outcomes, and strategic account expansion.

• Function as the main Engagement Lead and executive advisor throughout the entire engagement lifecycle.

• Establish engagement strategy, governance structures, communication schedules, success metrics, and executive reporting protocols.

• Facilitate executive steering committees, governance meetings, roadmap workshops, and strategic planning sessions.

• Collaborate with Project Managers, Solution Architects, and Technical Leads to ensure alignment of execution with client objectives.

• Offer strategic direction across various workstreams while ensuring alignment with business priorities, contractual obligations, and long-term client aspirations.

• Actively manage executive risks, organizational changes, stakeholder alignment, staffing issues, and delivery challenges.

• Guarantee that engagements adhere to AHEAD quality standards, delivery methodologies, financial goals, and governance expectations.

• Provide executive-level guidance that supports informed decision-making and tangible business results.

• Cultivate trusted advisor relationships with executive leaders in business and technology.

• Identify avenues for expanding client engagements and lead discovery workshops, strategy sessions, solution development, proposal strategies, estimation, pricing discussions, and executive presentations.

• Advance consulting methodologies, engagement frameworks, governance standards, reusable intellectual property, and delivery best practices.

• Drive ongoing improvement across the Data Practice.

• Mentor and coach consultants and emerging Engagement Leads.

• Assist in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, succession planning, leadership development, and career advancement.

• Encourage collaboration across consulting, delivery, architecture, engineering, project management, sales, and client success teams.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies, industry trends, business transformation strategies, and contemporary data platforms.

• On smaller engagements, may serve as Project Manager while primarily offering strategic engagement leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Business, or a related discipline.

• Generally, 12–15+ years of progressively responsible experience in leading enterprise data, analytics, AI, cloud, or digital transformation initiatives.

• At least seven years of consulting or professional services experience managing complex enterprise engagements.

• Proven success as an Engagement Lead, Program Lead, or senior consulting leader for large-scale, cross-functional transformation initiatives.

• Established experience in managing executive client relationships, engagement financials, delivery governance, organizational change, and strategic account growth.

• Experience in leading executive workshops, steering committees, governance forums, and strategic planning sessions.

• Strong comprehension of enterprise data platforms, analytics, AI, cloud technologies, governance, and modern architectural principles.

• Executive leadership capability and the ability to influence senior business and technology stakeholders.

• Outstanding consulting abilities, structured thinking, consultative problem-solving, strategic planning, and executive communication skills.

• Strong business acumen aligning technology investments with measurable business outcomes.

• Capacity to lead multiple teams while maintaining accountability for engagement success.

• Proficient in relationship management, facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution, and executive presentation skills.

• Financial management skills, including forecasting, margin management, budget oversight, and commercial decision-making.

• Ability to develop leaders, create high-performing teams, and promote accountability and continuous improvement.

• Executive presence, sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to lead through influence.

• Preferred: Master’s degree or MBA.

• Preferred: Professional certifications in cloud platforms, enterprise architecture, project management, Agile, AI, or data management.

• Preferred: Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, or similar enterprise technologies.

• Preferred: Experience in leading enterprise modernization, operating model transformation, data strategy, governance, AI adoption, or large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
